Think you had a busy summer?

Perhaps you haven’t met Rosie’s Girls, a fearless group of 30 sixth, seventh and eighth graders from Richmond and San Pablo.

Just reading through their six-week summer itinerary is exhausting. Four days in Yosemite. Ropes course at Fort Miley. Silk-screening at the Richmond Art Center. Tours of the Mission Science Center, the Chevron Richmond Refinery, the SS Red Oak Victory and the Riveter/WWII Home Front National Historical Park. A Career Day at Kennedy High with more than 30 women who work jobs formerly considered exclusive to men.

RICHMOND (CBS SF) — Former World War II shipyard worker Mary Torres, 96, jumped to her feet and waved as hundreds of people cheered at the Rosie Rally Home Front Festival in Richmond Saturday.

This is the fifth year for the festival, which commemorates the iconic, if fictional, World War II female worker known as “Rosie the Riveter.” The worker appeared on WWII posters representing women working industrial jobs to support the war effort.

DINNER RESCHEDULED TO AUGUST 30

In light of current concerns for everyone’s health and local government recommendations, we have rescheduled our 20th anniversary annual benefit dinner for August 30, 2020. We want to protect our community and especially not jeopardize our Rosies’ health (certainly our super stars of the event!).

I sincerely ask you to buy your tickets today. Rosie the Riveter Trust relies heavily on the funds raised from this annual dinner to keep our programs afloat and our park thriving. Our Board and I look forward to seeing you on August 30 - same time, same place!

My very best,

PS. If you do not know if you can come and could send a donation, we would be most grateful. Your financial contributions support the day-to-day operations of the Trust and our ability to offer park access to youth and special programming. Thank you!
