Mark Cameron has over 30 years of experience in California as a litigator, strategist, and negotiator of complex multi-party disputes. He is experienced in the enforcement of contracts and law concerning commercial lending, construction, insurance, environmental rights and obligations, general business, and real estate. Mark has represented major lenders, developers, contractors, court-appointed receivers, wineries, hotel owners, insureds, and many high net-worth owners of businesses and real estate assets. Mark received his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. He received his M.A. and his B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Davis.
As a Board member, Mark strongly supports the mission of Rosie the Riveter Trust and believes there is unusual potential and power in this particular past to inspire good works in current and future generations.
Thomas K. Butt, FAIA is an architect and president of Interactive Resources, a Richmond, California, architecture, engineering and planning firm. In addition to providing a wide range of consulting services, Interactive Resources is a developer of urban infill real estate projects.
Since 1995, he has served on the Richmond City Council, including a year as vice-mayor in 2002. He has a keen interest in seeing the Rosie the Riveter WW II Home Front National Historical Park succeed, having taken a leadership position in lobbying Congress, authoring much of the local legislation relating to Richmond’s partnership position and to historic preservation in general. Tom is active in many organizations relating to architecture, construction and historic preservation, including the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) and the National Trust for Historic Preservation. He is a fellow of the American Institute of Architects.
Jane A. Bartke brings to the Trust her deep experience in two vital fields, community leadership, and education. Jane as served on the El Cerrito City Council and as Mayor for two terms.
In the community, Jane served two terms on the El Cerrito City Council, including two terms as Mayor. She has also served as Chair of the Contra Costa Mayors Conference and represented Contra Costa cities on the Executive Board of the Association of Bay Area Governments, chairing its Legislative & Government Committee for eight years. She also chaired the Administrative Services committee of the state-wide League of California Cities. Jane’s community endeavors, include having been President of the Junior Women’s Club, chair of the city Parks & Recreation Commission, President of Soroptomists, President of the honorary teachers’ sorority, and founder and current President of the El Cerrito Community Foundation. She has served on the board of the YWCA, and as President of the county-wide National Women’s Political Caucus. She has been honored as El Cerrito’s Woman of the Year. She was recently honored by being placed on the El Cerrito Wall of Fame, one of only a few citizens so honored.
Jane’s education credentials include a life-time credential to teach kindergarten through 12th grade and more than 30 years of classroom teaching in local public schools. Her innovative classroom ideas won her the “Teaching Excellence Award” from the West Contra Costa Education Fund.
Jane also brings memories of her mother as a warden during WWII, and remembers the rationing and coupons used to buy basic essentials.
